ISSM & FSO, HDR Engineering
Lynn Burns is an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Facility Security Officer (FSO) for HDR Engineering in Colorado Springs, CO. He has a wide variety of security experience including 20 years in the United States Air Force where he served as a computer technician and network installer supporting the National Security Agency, Air Force Technical Applications Center and the National Reconnaissance Office.
In addition to his day job, Burns is the President of NCMS – The Society of Industrial Security Professionals, a non-profit that has provided training for contractor security professionals for nearly 60-years. As the President of NCMS, Burns is a non-voting member of the National Archive’s Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) National Industrial Security Program Policy Advisory Committee (NISPPAC). He is also the chairperson for the NCMS ISSM Community and the host of the monthly NCMS Live series “Ask the ISSM”.
Established by the United States Congress, NIBS’ mission is to serve the public interest by advancing building science and technology to improve the built environment.
